Anyone can download Minecraft: Education Edition free! There are two ways to experience Minecraft: Education Edition at no cost, either via the trial for free or the demo lesson. You will require an account to access the trial at no cost, which is or an Office 365 Education or Microsoft 365 account. It is not necessary to have an account or log-in in to use the demo lesson. This article gives information on how to use the free trial and the demo lesson.



Technical requirements



Minecraft: Education Edition is compatible with Chromebook, iPad and Mac. To ensure that Minecraft: Education Edition is compatible with your device, please review the System Requirements article.



About the free trial



The trial trial is fully functional and includes all the features of the paid version. The trial is compatible with Code Connection and Classroom Mode. For more information about these features, see the Get Started with Code Connection and Get Started with Classroom Mode tutorials.



The trial is limited to 25 logins per teachers with an Office 365 Education Account and 10 for all users. After that, a paid license is required to continue playing. Trial logins aren't able to be renewed. Contact our support team right away if you have any queries. Minecraft Education Edition can be purchased after trial logins are used.

Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you wish to download from the Get Minecraft download page. The Minecraft: Education Edition version you downloaded must be installed. About the demo lessons



Demo lessons let you try Minecraft: Education Edition for free and without registering. Each demo lesson has limited capabilities, for instance, the progress and worlds cannot be saved, and it is not possible to host or join an online game. You can experience a real Minecraft lesson by playing a demo lesson. There is no limit on the number of times you play each demo lesson.



Start a demo lesson



These steps will allow you to take a no-cost lesson.



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you want to download from the Get Minecraft download page. The Minecraft: Education Edition version that you downloaded should be installed. Start Minecraft: Education Edition. At the Welcome to Minecraft Education Edition screen, select If you don't have an account, make one. To view the license agreement, choose View Terms. Select Accept Terms and Play when you are ready to play. Select Start Lesson.
